Support the Allen Child Protection Center

MISSION STATEMENT: The Allen Child Protection Center collaboratively assesses suspected victims of child abuse in a neutral and child friendly environment, while promoting child abuse prevention and advocacy.

The Allen Child Protection Center serves 27 counties in northeast and north central Iowa. Approximately one third of the center's budget comes from the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, which splits funding among accredited centers. Therefore, they must rely on grants, donations and other funding sources to provide services.

DONATE to support the services of the Child Protection Center which are always FREE to our patients and families. See below how your donation can make an impact.

Allen Child Protection Center (ACPC) Renovation

Since their start in 2010, the ACPC staff has grown from 2 to 17, creating a need for more space. The renovation project will increase the current area from 5,200 to nearly 9,000 square feet at a new location - Alumni Hall on the Allen College campus. Updates will include a clubhouse, an enlarged waiting room, additional interview and exam rooms, and a welcoming, residential-style design. The Allen Foundation is assisting the ACPC in raising funds for this project. Please consider donating.

Family Resiliency Program

The Family Resiliency Program at Allen's Child Protection Center, is dedicated to helping children overcome medical, developmental and social-emotional barriers attributed to prenatal and environmental drug exposure. The program serves infants up to age five affected by a parent's or caregiver's substance abuse. A $100 donation would provide 4 children with weighted blankets to assist with interrupted sleep and emotional regulation.

Mental Health Support

Mental health providers at the Child Protection Center are trained in treatment models proven to reduce symptoms of trauma and are available to assist anyone, not only those that have been referred to the center for other types of service. A $50 donation would provide a journal and a fidget for use during mental health sessions for 10 of our patients.
