It's our 3rd Annual Be Someone Day, a collaborative initiative between UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital and Lost Island Themepark and Waterpark in Waterloo, Iowa.
On Monday, July 21, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., we invite you to participate in this special event dedicated to supporting the Allen Child Protection Center. Together, we will unite our community in an educational and awareness-raising experience filled with engaging activities throughout the park, all aimed at promoting child and family safety. MISSION STATEMENT: The Allen Child Protection Center collaboratively assesses suspected victims of child abuse in a neutral and child friendly environment, while promoting child abuse prevention and advocacy.
The Allen Child Protection Center serves 27 counties in northeast and north central Iowa. Approximately one third of the center's budget comes from the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, which splits funding among accredited centers. Therefore, they must rely on grants, donations and other funding sources to provide services.
